Act in 4-H is a Will County New Lenox 4-H club for children ages 8-18.  We are a unique 4-H club in that we focus on theater arts - a FIRST in Will County 4-H and quite possibly the only in Illinois 4-H.  Since our club's start in 2005, we have had over 100 youth involved in our many productions and special events.  Our last play, The Seussification of Romeo & Juliet, involved 24 LW area children each in speaking roles.  Studies show that theater gives children lifelong skills - effective communication & public speaking skills - and that everyone is a star.  Youth also have the opportunity to learn about stage lighting, sound, costuming, choreography and even directing.  We accept all youth who audition and then have rehearsals leading up the production.  Our production crew is all volunteer and we are self-funded through participation fees, ticket sales and some area sponsorships.  During our rehearsals we also incorporate improv activities which help build better actors and friendships.
